• Question: Do you work in CERN at all or do you just collaborate with scientists from there?

      I have worked at CERN in the past, but the experiment I currently work on is based in Japan. Several of my colleagues work on the ATLAS experiment at CERN; others work at experiments based in the US, or here in the UK. Particle physics is a global endeavour.

    I have been working at CERN off an on since 1983! And, because of my current position within the CMS collaboration, over the next 22 months, I’ll spend about half my time at CERN (and half back at my home institution in the US).
